JAMB closes registration for UTME 2023
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has closed registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams (UTME) after extending it by one week.
Naija News said in a statement Wednesday, Director of Public Relations and Board Minutes, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to Benjamin, about 1.6 million candidates had successfully registered for his UTME 2023 by the time registration was completed.
He said: This number does not include the direct participation component of the exercise, which began on Monday, February 20, 2023 and was suspended on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
A monitoring team of board registrars who traveled across the country were in Nasarawa and Delta on the final day of the exercise to oversee its completion.“
However, it is noteworthy that none of these centers had any candidates waiting to register, suggesting that nearly all candidates wishing to register for the exercise did so.“
According to a JAMB spokesman, the same situation has been repeated at many centers in Nasarawa state. Because he was one day to the deadline, saw few candidates at all centers, and was evicted before the job was done.
He explained that this year’s exercise is helping the board run more smoothly than ever before.
