After Losing to Peter Obi in Lagos, Asiwaju Release A New Statement
In the final result for the Lagos State presidential election announced by INEC, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, defeated his opponent, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State. Mr. Peter Obi amassed a total number of 582,454 votes in Lagos State, while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), got a total number of 571,575 votes in Lagos State. Meanwhile, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, got a total number of 75, 675 votes in Lagos State.
However, reacting to his loss in Lagos State against Peter Obi, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, released a statement where he called for normalcy to be returned in Lagos. He said, “The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some.”
