JUST IN: INEC Postpones Guber Election by one week
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unanimously postponed the governorship and state assembly elections which was originally scheduled to hold on March 11 by one week. The elections is now slated to hold on March 18, 2023.
The decision to postpone the election by a week came after a close door meeting of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials led by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and his commissioners over the governorship election. The meeting was reported by Punch Newspaper to have started at 7pm on Wednesday.
The recent development of the commission is a contradictory to the earlier released Press Release of the commission dated March 2nd, 2023 which assured Nigerians that the gubernatorial election and state assembly elections would take place as scheduled.

As of the time of writing this report, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to make an official declaration.
