Ahead of the fixture at Anfield on Sunday the 5th of March, Manchester United Manager Erik Ten Hag has given an update on the availability of Sancho and Luke Shaw.

Having featured for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 26th of February, with Shaw playing full time and Sancho on as a second-half substitute.

However, both missed the FA cup fifth round tie against The Hammers at Old Trafford, where Man United were 3 goals to 1 better than their visitors to progress to the quarterfinals.

The gaffer had ruled Shaw out with a minute injury and Sancho was kept out because of an illness before the FA cup match.

Meanwhile, the boss seemed hopeful that the absence of both was just for that game and that the pair would be making a return for the clash at Anfield.

During a presser on Thursday, Ten Hag was quoted “I think we will have players back, yesterday Shaw was not available, so we expect him back.

Sancho? He was ill, but we will have to wait and see how that develops but I think he[could be available] as well.”

The pair should be the only returnee players to the squad, while others are still out on long-term injury.

Having won their first trophy since 2017, Manchester United is brimming with confidence going into the encounter.
